Why use us?

While living and working in the South Island, we have built up an in-depth knowledge of the local river and mountain environments.

We have consents to operate commercial rafting operations on the Shotover and Kawarau rivers. Extreme Safety specialise in supplying Operational Safety Management Plans and liase with all relevant parties (including Maritime Safety Authority and D.O.C) regarding these matters on Productions behalf if required.

We can supply and co-ordinate safety and rigging personnel in alpine environments that know the film industry requirements. We can also supply water and mountain stunt personnel if required.

We have used our expertise numerous times to assist film crews in all aspects ranging from advice on alpine terrain, snow, white water rapids and river levels, underwater filming, forecasts and safety to equipping total crews in adequate equipment necessary for specific jobs in this environment. We are proficient in the running of white water rapids with camera-mounted rafts (with both conventional and oar frame methods) and other specialized equipment.
We have used and built on numerous occasions floating raft platforms for camera cranes and crew.

Extreme Safety utilise specific 2 way radios for on – location communications which enable us to contact our base and emergency services at most of the areas on the rivers / mountains in this region.

Extreme Safety has a large equipment base readily available to fully equip up to 100 camera crew and staff for full water immersion.
